Day 2 recap and Day 3

Day 2 recap: was all fine and dandy until the evening hours hit as I started to feel like I was coming down with something. The headache was annoying and it felt like the chills or ‘induction flu’ ( as some call it) were coming on! Because of how I’ve been eating lately, I am in ketosis – where my body is using my fat stores for energy. This is a very familiar feeling to me, so I am trudging through the uncomfortable parts and I’m going to keep moving forward!

Day 3 (that’s today!)

We woke up, and my hubby cooked this lovliness- Can you say yum-fest?!


Sweet potatoes, eggs, sauteed onions and swiss chard with the best homemade pepper sauce!

Shortly after that, we set out the yoga mat and the boys did Cracker the Dragon storytime yoga. My oldest is really into these and they are paced pretty fast, making them a decent workout (or warm-up!) for an adult!


After the yoga, my oldest wanted to do the 100 rep squat challenge with me. I committed myself to doing it , but believe me when I say it was the last thing I wanted to do after yesterdays workout. I am a little sore and it was very challenging! Especially when I think about the last set of squats ( squatting and then jumping full force, then going back and doing the same thing over and over 9 times). BUT, I also remember how good it feels afterward, energy-wise. It just feels good to be fit- and I want that for myself. So, we did it!

And as far as lunch goes….


I couldn’t wait to nom down on these pea sprouts again!  They are so good!


I added them to the salad I had for lunch! Romaine lettuce, swiss chard, carrots, celery, blueberries, cilantro, and cucumbers with chicken!


and we have the bones from the chicken simmering on low on the stove at the moment. It’s making my house smell wonderful, too! I’m not sure if we will use this bone broth for a soup base or simply sip it from some coffee mugs, either way, it’s always a treat!

And tonight, we’re having venison chili! If I have the time, I’ll be sure to snap a pic! ❤ I can’t wait to try it out!

Today is also the first day in a while that the sun has showed itself. I’ve had the Beatles “Here comes the sun” stuck in my head all day” ❤ It’s been rainy, wet, and just awful out. I’ve enjoyed the rain, but I need to be out in nature! I feel a hike is in order, and soon! Very soon!

So, am I losing weight? Eh, it feels like it, perhaps. I suppose that would be a perk, but I really just want to be fit and healthy. I’m NOT weighing myself, though. If you are someone who wants to keep track, then go for it! I feel pretty confident that if I work hard and eat right, I’ll be where I want to be: fit.

So in other words, screw those numbers!

I’m just SO tired of this cycle! I know it all too well, and I’m excited to balance myself out!
